ITC Breakfast
Dec 10th
WOW !! Some mornings I don’t know what I would do if we did not have our ITC Breakfast during our first break.
When ITC started serving cereal every morning during first break it was much appreciated by many students (me included). Many mornings I would run out of time getting ready for school and did not eat breakfast at home. So about 8 or 8:30 I would begin to get hungry and my stomach would start growling. That’s when I could not concentrate very much on my schoolwork. But then I would eat some cereal and was good until lunch time. Thank you everyone in ITC for contributing the cereal, milk, bowls, spoons and gloves so this can be possible.
The Bustling with Holiday Cheer at the ITC Building
Dec 8th
Man oh man, has the Information Technology Center (ITC) been busy! I mean, I know we’re always busy there, but today I noticed just how busy students and teachers in the ITC building really are. You’d be amazed with the “ITC Breakfast”, the Installation of the BPA Officers and the Christmas decoratin all happening in one day.
First let me explain about the “ITC Breakfast”. So you wake up fairly early in the morning, on top of getting ready, you may have children or have to run early morning errands. You get to school and for a while you focus on your work, and “BAM”, it hits you, hunger.
We all know hunger makes it somewhat difficult stay on the tasks at hand. So a brilliant teacher came up with an even more brilliant idea, the “ITC Breakfast”. Every morning, during our first break, students volunteer to serve all who are hungry in the ITC building. Students also supply their favorite cereal while the teachers provide spoons, bowls, milk, and gloves. This is so we never run out. This is an everyday thing that promotes a better rapport with all of the students (to me at least). If the other campuses don’t have breakfast, I think they should.
The Business Professionals of America (BPA) Installation was also today. This event was held to officially recognize the Officers of the Business Professionals of America from the Information Technology Center. The officers are people who hold positions like, parliamentarian, reporter, or vice president in each class. There were two sessions, for the A.M. and P.M.. Most of the teachers from the ITC building and our Director were there. The event was in the HCC building, not far from our own. The area looked like a mini theater, pretty cute. It was a bit too warm for my liking, but seeing my classmates receive their certificates made it well worth it.
Aside from the busy day, my mind kept wandering back to the beautiful decorations I saw this morning as I was walking down the ramp in the ITC building. The Student Advisory Counsel members from the P.M. were responsible for this gorgeous display. I got the chance to talk to a couple of them and got the scoop on how their activity went. It took them about 2 hours. They enjoyed decorating and enjoyed getting to know each other more. A member said putting up the decorations created a mood that inspired a warm holiday, family feeling. To me, our Christmas tree does reflect the warm feeling you get from the people in the Information Technology Center.
